A chimney sweep usually starts with what you can’t see from the living room — all the buildup sitting inside the flue. Creosote is the main one, along with soot and whatever else has worked its way in over time. We do chimney sweep work across Cape Cod, the South Shore, and nearby towns for both homes and businesses. Most of the time, we’ll also run a Level 2 video inspection while we’re there, just so you actually know what condition things are in instead of guessing.

 We include Level 2 video inspections with most chimney sweeps as a courtesy. We first clean the fireplace, smoke chamber, and flues to remove ash, creosote, debris, and nesting materials so hidden hazards like cracks and gaps are clearly visible. Residential and commercial inspections are available. Realtors are welcome for new home and pre-purchase inspections.

We repair leaks, structural damage, and perform seasonal maintenance including firebox repairs, masonry repointing, brick replacement, flashing caulking, and lead installation. We also repair clay flue liners and apply fresh cement wash for long-lasting protection. 

 Safe Sweep Chimney offers both colored epoxy waterproofing membranes and clear water-repellent treatments for complete masonry protection. Our elastomeric epoxy coating is ideal for severe water intrusion, especially in coastal areas like Cape Cod and New England. It forms a flexible, breathable membrane that expands and contracts with temperature changes while keeping moisture out. We also apply a premium clear water repellent that dries completely transparent and can reduce water absorption by up to 80%, helping extend the life of your chimney. 

 Each of our custom chimney rain caps is built to extend 2.5 inches beyond the cement wash, acting like an umbrella to properly shed water away from the chimney structure. Undersized caps can trap water and accelerate deterioration. We offer stainless steel and powder-coated custom caps that reduce up to 85% of rainwater entry while also preventing animals from entering your flue. We install Lamance and spring-top dampers to improve energy efficiency and replace old, rusted poker and rotary dampers. Stainless steel liners are also available for furnaces and hot water heaters to improve safety and performance.

Our masonry work includes fireplaces, stairs, walkways, cobblestone aprons, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, pizza ovens, retaining walls, and paver installations. We specialize in designing custom outdoor living spaces using brick, fieldstone, or block structures finished with thin stone veneer to create beautiful, long-lasting backyard retreats. 

 Older fireplaces often have unsealed throat areas and smoke chambers that lack proper fire protection, creating potential fire hazards. Our Chamber Guard high-heat masonry coating seals gaps and voids, bringing your system up to code and keeping heat and flames contained within the fireplace. Cracked or damaged clay flue liners are restored using our Fire Guard system, which fills gaps and coats the liner with a smooth, protective surface to improve safety and performance.
