Brian Burkhead

With 37 years of hands-on experience, Brian is a highly respected chimney sweep and master mason known for craftsmanship, reliability, and deep-rooted trade knowledge. Trained under mentor and third generation master mason Emerson Coleman. He further honed his skills working alongside his uncle, Joseph Burkhead, a master stone cutter with over 40 years of experience at Plymouth Quarries. He is a graduate of the International Masonry Institute and gained commercial masonry experience through Local 3 Boston Union, working with his uncle and shop steward, David Shields.  From early apprenticeship to decades of independent work, Brian has developed extensive expertise in chimney construction, restoration, and maintenance, as well as brick, block, and stone masonry. His background includes working with natural stone, custom cutting, historic repair, and modern safety standards, blending old-world techniques with today’s best practices.
